Cobalt
The colours in cobalt are truly wonderful. The predominent colour of the stone is aubergine. However, there are many other colours which can vein and shade it such as green, turquiose, pink, copper and sometimes a pale buttery yellow.
Cobalt is not a material commonly used. This is usually because it is expensive, not freely available and hard to work.
