Artwell Nduna

Born in Chivhu in Zimbabwe in 1981, Artwell started to carve at the tender age of 13. He is now married with one child.

He was trained by the Shona art expert Thomas Kuvhengurwa and Joe Mutasa.

Artwell takes his inspiration from a number of different people such as Thomas and Samson Kuvhengurwa, Joe Mutasa, C. Handini and last but not least his father. His work reflects many different styles, both unique to him and to the people mentioned.

He prefers to work on fruitstone from the Kwekwe mines as the stone is very hard and does not scratch easily.

He works and lives in Harare.

Artwell's work has been exhibited in the U.K., U.S.A., Germany and Australia.
