Elliot Rumano
Elliot was born in the Mrewa District of Mashonaland East in 1973. He began sculpting in 1993.
He has three brothers all of whom sculpt, Nelson, Chamunorwa and Edward.
Nelson was responsible for a year of Elliot's apprenticeship training which took place in Harare.
There are many inspirations for Elliots work. One artist particularly who influenced him is Samson Kuvenguhwa, other elements come from the owl, elephants, the human form and letter shapes.
He likes to talk of the different classes through his work and emphasise the varied emotions both good and bad of the rich and the poor.
His work is displayed in many countries around the world including South Africa, Belgium, Japan and the United States.
