Frequently Asked Questions
-
How much is delivery?
Delivery costs depend on the size and shape and more importantly weight. Therefore each piece is individually priced where a postal service is used. Please contact us for information
-
How do you maintain them?
Please refer to our maintenance information page.
-
How will they weather?
Due to the majority of sculptures having a wax finish they weather very well. However, over a period of time especially in bright sunshine they may fade. This can be kept to a minimum with a light polish once a year (please see our maintenance information) or for larger sculptures we offer a re-polish service*.

Are they affected by frost?
Frost may effect the stone if it has a way for moisture to enter the stone. Therefore all of our sculptures are checked carefully for natural faultlines. Should they have any which we feel may be of concern the sculpture is either withdrawn from sale, recommended for indoor use only or that a cover is used throughout the winter months.
This has proved to be very successful and many have been positioned in some very damp and cold places.
We only tend to recommend the harder stones for the long term outdoor use. This is due to their hardness and density.
Most sculptures also have a wax finish which although is used for aesthetic purposes is yet another barrier to moisture absorbtion. -
Are they Soapstone?
Soapstone is a generic term for some African stones. It tends to apply to softer stones which we do not sell as they are easily marked and damaged. They are also unsuitable for British winters as they do not withstand frosts particularly well.
