As with many people who visit Africa we have a passion for Zimbabwe and their fabulously skilled sculptors. Having travelled around the country several years ago we began importing a small number of sculptures, mainly for friends and family who had seen our own collection at home. Since then business has grown and in 2005 we opened a warehouse and showroom and now have perhaps the largest collection of sculptures in the U.K. We usually have between 500 and 1000 individual pieces on offer, from small pieces under £10 to 3 and 4 metre high and £4-5,000.
As a husband and wife team we buy every sculpture directly from the artists and deal with the entire export, import and delivery process ourselves. This is important for many reasons, not least that we can then pay the artists directly and ensure they receive the full benefit of your purchase. Life is not easy in Zimbabwe and the fact that our business has grown ensures that we can now help to support a large number of artists and their families. We are also able to control our costs by keeping all the processes in house so the sculptures offer fabulous value.
